This 1st slab of screenshot is me making the foundation of the shop, which i want to be wooden, and very structured. The idea is for the shop floor to be transparent so that this will show through. This is what will elevate my shop like a traditional hen house. The hardest part about this process was creating the structure i wanted and choosing where the holes would be.
This 2nd slab of screenshot is the shell of the shop if you will. This is the the beam that covers the shop. The challenge here was choosing the material, I tried with different types of metal and roofing but settled with these metal shingles.
This 3rd slab of screenshot is the main meat of the shop, where everything happens. This is where the shelfs and punch out windows are present. This is where the most important features are made. here what was hard was having the patience to draw each shelf one by one, looking at it now I could have cut this process by half if I went about it better. I did however learn a few new skill on sketch-up during this process including how to intersect faces together which was used for the windows.
This 4th and final set of screenshot is me choosing the material for the shop, creating the till area and the glass floor for the shop. I am thrilled with how well the wood works with the yellow and dark grey glass. Adding the materials and colours to the structure is such a fulfilling process because it is where the building comes to life, it no longer is a bunch of lines and lifeless white shapes.
