What needed to be done next was get all the 2D shapes I had sketched onto the laser cutter software. The software I was using is called RDworks V8, and it's a finicky one. The menus look very outdated and to my knowledge no shortcuts, so everything just required more clicks and moving around the place.

The default Interface
At first that meant I would take an eternity to draw anything simple, but by the later stages I got used to it and just learnt to construct my desired shapes using multiple other shapes. For example when making triangles to just make a rectangle and splitting that diagonally. Which now on the outside seems obvious but at the start I just never thought about it.
Below are just the wood boards after the laser cutting.
