Model 5 is the gigantic tree house, and this was one of the sketches that translated best from sketch to Lego model. It is also one of my preferred idea, and is part of the top 3 let's call it, the top 3 was the last 3 models in no particular order. In the Lego model there are none of the support bracket, because the scale and pieces I had limited that, looking at the model however I do prefer it better than with. I don't know wether you could actually get rid of them, I don't know if you can counter balance such huge platforms from such a small column, I don't even know if with the supporting bracket this design is possible. But I did say in one of my journal post that, I'm at a stage where realism doesn't come in the play, or at least I can choose for it not to, the question is what choice I make. If I do decide to go more wacky then this design seems best, in the opposite direction then this design not so much.
The drawings here really liven up the model, this design seems to be the one that is most alive. To me this design would fit in perfectly into sci-fi films, where they have housing complexes that are super overcrowded and are built from scrap. That's what it reminds me of, it was not what I was going for to be honest, so it's an unexpected pleasure. I have to say I really enjoyed drawing over these models, it brought them to life, they are fleshed out, and that allows me to make a better decision moving forward, because at the end of the day the bet design is the one that will interact with the inhabitants the best, not the one that looks best as a Lego model.
