In my initial project proposal I stated that I wanted to make a modular house targeted at a professional couple that had the possibility to be repeated numerous times to create a housing complex. After having gone to school this week on Wednesday, and discussing my ideas with one of my teacher, the idea of targeting it at students came up, and I think it's a lot more sensible for me. I have 0 clue what the needs of a professional couple are, nor did I really fancy researching into it, on the other hand student accommodation is in my ball park, because it's a situation I will likely be in. So bye bye professional couple and welcome student, the idea of modularity stays, and seems even more appropriate now. In order for this new idea to work, I will create a questionnaire targeted at people who are already in student accommodation, and those that will be soon, ie my school piers, asking what they think is needed in great student accommodation. That questionnaire coupled with more research will form the criteria for my project, and so far that sounds like a pretty good plan, one I can roll with. I will of course will meet those criteria whilst also making the structure as interesting as possible, I do not want to fall into the trap of trying to make a very innovative living complex that just ends up looking like a building that belongs in a dystopia. To do that I will also be researching housing complexes that were innovative and those that fell short and maybe do belong in a dystopia.
